Ouchi-juku, Fukushima Pref.

Ouchi-juku, Fukushima Pref., is a small village nestled among lofty mountains that once flourished as post town in the Edo period. Drove through the beautiful countryside of Aizu area to this small village in this year's hottest sun.

There are fresh water streams along the both sides of the road running through the center of the village. They are so cold that some people pour the water over their heads. There are found cool drinks, beers etc. in front of shops.

I had "Takatoo-soba", Aizu origin buckwheat noodle at Misawaya soba restaurant, and Iwana mountain trout grilled in the irori fireplace, those were all tasty.
